Score Improvement Guarantee, Score Improvement Averages, and Terms of Service
Overview
We’re so confident in our tutoring and coaching services, that we offer a score improvement guarantee for students that don't get their target score. We hope that this provides families with the peace of mind needed to work with us. These guarantees are designed so that families from all financial backgrounds can support their children with risk-free learning solutions to achieve their goals.
The Terms of Service listed below are meant to ensure that students utilize the full benefits of our courses and apply an appropriate amount of effort before automatically qualifying for additional free tutoring. We feel that the requirements listed below are fair, and we’re happy to evaluate any unexpected circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
The following courses have a score improvement guarantee:
- Small Group SAT/ACT Prep Course (40+ hours)
- SAT Private Tutoring (40+ hours)
- ACT Private Tutoring (40+ hours)
- Live SAT Self-Paced Video SAT Course
- College Advising Self-Paced Video Course
Parents must specifically record their child’s target score in the sign-up form before the course begins.
We crafted this guarantee to demonstrate our commitment to helping students achieve their goals.
We typically see students fall into three categories:
- Those aiming for a 1500+ score to gain admission to a top 25 school
- Students seeking a 200-point improvement
- Students needing a smaller boost to qualify for scholarships or reach their target score
We're so confident in our program that if you don't achieve your personal goal, we will tutor you completely free until your next exam.
Typically, students reach their goals within 40 hours of prep. However, for those who don't, we offer a complimentary course in a small-group format for students seeking further improvement.
Students can receive up to 40 hours of free prep to help them achieve their target score.
To qualify for this offer, students must meet the course completion requirements outlined below.
Score Improvement Averages
Our score improvement averages are based on scores from previous official exams or an initial practice exam taken at the beginning of the course. We compare these scores to SAT and ACT exam scores received after completing our full course for students who meet the below criteria. To achieve a 200+ SAT improvement and 4+ ACT improvement, a student’s current score, level of effort, and test-taking conditions must align with the conditions outlined below.
- Current score: For example, if a student begins the course with a 1450, it is impossible to improve by over 150 points given that 1600 is a perfect score. Students who can expect to improve 200+ points are typically in the 1100-1300 range.
- Level of effort: Most of our students who see large score improvements took one of our 40+ hour courses, completed all of their homework, and took multiple practice exams.
- Test-taking conditions: Sometimes students reach their target scores on practice exams, but fail to replicate the results on exam day due to test-taking anxiety and other external factors. We do our best to mitigate these circumstances by replicating test-day conditions with practice exams.
For this reason, we cannot guarantee that all students will improve by 200+ points on the SAT or 4+ points on the ACT. Individual results will vary. These score improvement averages were calculated based on a subset of our student population that fits these criteria.
Qualifications for SAT and ACT Course Target Score Guarantee
With the Amikka Learning Target Score Guarantee, students who do not get their goal score will automatically qualify for a free course if they meet the appropriate criteria.
-
Students must have an official SAT or PSAT/ACT score before enrolling in an SAT or ACT course (a “Starting Score”). An official SAT or PSAT score is one received after taking an official SAT or PSAT exam administered by the College Board. Because the PSAT and SAT are scored on different scales, official PSAT scores will be converted to SAT scores to determine the starting score. An official ACT score is one received after taking an official ACT exam administered by the ACT.
-
Students must take another official SAT or ACT exam within 90 days of completing the requirements of the course. We only accept the score received directly after finishing our course.
