2026 SAT Score Release Schedule

After taking the SAT, most students receive their scores within two to three weeks. For the digital SAT, College Board has been releasing scores faster than in previous years. The March 2026 test has scores around March 21, May scores come around May 16, and June scores around June 20. Fall test dates follow the same roughly two-week pattern: August scores arrive in early September, October in mid-October, November in late November, and December in mid-December.

Scores are released in batches and are available on your College Board account starting at approximately 8 AM Eastern Time. Some students may wait an additional one to three days after the initial release.

What to Do After Getting Your Scores

If your score meets your target, send score reports to your colleges if you did not already select them during registration. If your score is below your target, do not panic. Most students take the SAT more than once, and scores typically improve. Analyze your section scores to identify where you lost the most points, then build a targeted study plan for your next attempt.

If you are unsure whether to retake, check how many times you should take the SAT. Generally, if your score is more than 50 points below the middle 50% range for your target schools, retaking is worth it. Many schools superscore, so each attempt can only help.

Use the Waiting Time Wisely

Waiting for scores is stressful, but use the time productively. If there is any chance you will want to retake, start reviewing your weak areas now. Our SAT tutors at Amikka Learning can help you prepare for a retake even before your scores arrive.

Christopher Hernandez, the founder of Amikka Learning, couldn't afford expensive SAT tutoring so he spent hundreds of hours studying on his own.

After improving over 400 points and attending an Ivy League school he realized how unfair the playing field was with tutoring: no matter how smart you were, if you couldn't afford tutoring you were stuck.
His dream was to change this.

He began tutoring for the SAT and quickly realized that he was a gifted tutor. His students were loving his program and improving very fast.

Fast forward 8 years, Amikka is a leader in the education industry and has helped thousands of students get into their dream schools.
